When can I book surf lessons?
A group session includes all equipment you need, a 30min theory session on the beach and 1.5hr water session with a qualified coach by your side the whole time! We offer beginner surf sessions, email info@stadsurfing.com for lesson enquiries.

If I come to surf in winter, will I be cold?
NO! All of our surf equipment is maintained to a top standard. Our winter hire wetsuits are 6:5mm and our summer suits are 5:4mm! All our boots are 7mm thick and gloves are 5mm thick, guaranteed to keep you toasty warm all year round!

What are the surf conditions in Hoddevik?
In general, Hoddevik in winter produces bigger waves for more advanced surfers and in summer the conditions are smaller, perfect for long boarding and beginners! However, the surf always changes. If you are curious about the surf report, please check Magic Seaweed and dont call us to ask what the waves will be like in a months time. Even though we wish we could know, we don’t.

What time is check in and check out?
Check in is at 2pm and check out is at 11am :)

Do I need a car in Hoddevik?
Having a car is not essential but it is recommended. The nearest store is a 20min drive away in the town of Leikanger. If you need to hire a car, we can recommend a local hire car provider for you :)

How do I find Stadsurfing?
Stadsurfing is located as close to the beach as you can be! When coming down the one road in Hoddevik, we are located roughly 20m from the beach on the right hand side of the road. Look for our sign right above the door, you cant miss it!

Can I camp in your garden?
Unfortunately not! If you rent the whole house then we can possibly arrange something but normally our answer is no due to house capacity.

Do I need to book surf rentals?
Surf rentals are given out on a first come first served basis. We can reserve surf equipment if you are a big group but that will have to be arranged prior to your arrival. If you are a guest on the house we can guarantee you surf equipment for the duration of your stay if you wish to hire :)

Can I hire surf equipment for several days?
Unfortunately not. As we like to keep control of our equipment and make sure it is properly looked after, all surf hire must be returned by closing time. Returns must be back by 4pm in winter and 8pm in summer.

When does surf rentals open and when do I need to return my equipment by?
Surf rentals opens at 09am every day. Returns must be back by 4pm in winter and 9pm in summer.

I see there is another surf spot called Ervik a short drive away from Hoddevik. Can I take your hire equipment to Ervik to surf?
All equipment rented from Stadsurfing MUST stay in Hoddevik. If you wish to surf in Ervik, please contact Ervik Surf Shop for rentals :)
